About the event
WHAT IS THIS?
Ash Wednesday is the beginning of the 40-day period called the Lenten Season, which is a time of spiritual preparation before Easter. During Lent, Christians take time to reflect, pray and ask God for forgiveness. The whole purpose is to set time aside to consider Jesus Christ's suffering and his sacrifice, his life, death, burial and resurrection. The Lenten Season ends with Holy Week on the Saturday before Resurrection Day or Easter Sunday. This year, Resurrection Day will be observed on March 31, 2024.
WHEN SHOULD I ATTEND
You can attend the Ash Wednesday service just like you would attend our normal Wednesday Night Bible Study. The only difference between the Ash Wednesday service and our regular Wednesday Night Bible Study is Ash Wednesday focuses on the beginning of the Lenten Season.
IS THIS FOR ANYONE?
YES! All are welcome to attend!
HOW DO I ATTEND?
Come to Pentecostal Church of Christ, 10515 Chester Avenue, Cleveland, OH. Bishop Hanna will start anointing you with ashes starting at 6:00 pm.
